(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Hunger striker Awad Al-Saidi has stopped drinking water as of today Saturday to protest his continued isolation by the Israeli prison authority.Saidi’s family in Gaza told Ahrar center for prisoners’ studies and human rights that Saidi, who has been on hunger strike for six days, decided to stop drinking water to protest the Israeli prison administration’s insistence on retaining him in solitary confinement. The family pointed out that Saidi, 38, has been held in isolation for one year, adding that he is now held in Eshel prison.Fuad Al-Khafsh, the Ahrar center’s director, said that Saidi had repeatedly asked for ending his isolation and letting him join his fellow prisoners in the holy fasting month of Ramadan, which is due within less than two weeks. He said that the Israeli prison administration adamantly refused Saidi’s request, noting that Saidi was also deprived of family visits for years.End item/ 149
